David Freed joined MSI Express (msiexpress.com) in 2021 as Chief Information Officer and Head of Sustainability where he leads digitization and sustainability efforts across the company’s 15 facilities.  Prior to MSIE, David was an Executive Partner with HCI Equity Partners, an industrially focused middle market private equity firm where he led sustainability and digitization across their portfolio.  David spent the first 10 years of his career building multiple technology offerings in the energy, chemical, process and industrial industries including serving as the founding team of NET Power (NYSE:NPWR) and 8 Rivers Capital (8rivers.com). He received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and a certificate in markets in management from Duke University.  David lives with his wife, Olivia, and their sons, Julian and Parker, in the suburbs of Chicago. In his free time, he enjoys watching Duke Basketball, running/biking and playing paddle tennis.
