Alexis Hocken currently a 3rd year PhD candidate in Professor Bradley D. Olsen’s group in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Arizona State University in 2021. She is now working towards her thesis studying the mechanical recycling of plastics to improve the sorting of plastics and their reuse in new valuable products and packaging. Alexis is a 2021 MIT Presidential Fellow and a 2022 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow.
